In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. I wore a pair of Asics Gel 1160's for 2 months and the mesh part near the toes ripped completely in half. The shoes look like they were chewed by an animal of some sort but have only experienced moderate use. I have wore asics before for trail running, distance, mud races ect and have never had a problem like with this particular pair/model of shoe. I e-mailed the Company offering them a chance to rectify the situation with no response. I would avoid these shoes as they are not extremely durable.

Bought these as my New Balance shoes had nearly 300 miles on them and were nearing their useful life. I run 4-6 miles 3-4 times/week (mainly pavement/asphalt, and a little off-road/dirt). These are the most comfortable and light shoes I have ever worn! Being in South Texas, it is important to have a shoe that breathes... these do just that - my feet never get too hot, as they ventilate very well. Love them - and will buy another pair when these eventually wear out.

This is a good light shoe for the price, can't go wrong with this one, a very good running shoe
